A couple things to note from this weeks ad.  We are seeing a great price on the bone in chicken for $.88/lb.  Milk is advertised cheapest at Baker's. Hanging baskets are on sale this week all over, but Donna found the best price advertised was at Bag n Save.

A rule of thumb for bone in chicken breast to figure out if it is a good price compared to boneless skinless chicken breast is to double the price.  For instance this week it is $.88 double that is $1.76 which beats this weeks boneless skinless chicken breast price.

As always we hope that you have a successful shopping trip this week.  Don't forget to price match and hit just 1 or 2 stores.  Save yourself some time, gas, and money at the same time.

Don't shop all over town for these deals price match and save time and money.  I am really liking the deals at Fareway this week.  We have been waiting for hamburger to go on sale and it is $1.99 at Fareway this week.  They have a lot of fantastic buys this week that match up with coupons.  My kids always like to make me breakfast in bed on Mother's Day, but I don't particularly like having syrup on my sheets, because they feel like they need to eat there too, so for the past few years I have been buying a couple boxes of muffin mixes for them to make for my Mother's Day breakfast.  I think they always think they are so clever to find them in the pantry, so don't tell them my secret planning.  This week you can get Betty Crocker muffin mixes for $1.00 when you use your coupon.  Happy Shopping this week!

Another week of deals is up!  What's catching my eye this week especially is the Roberts milk for $2.68 and with coupons that have been in the ads it will end up being $2.28 a gallon.  The Philadelphia and Kraft deals are very appealing this week as well as they end up being anywhere from free to $.24.  Remember if there isn't a coupon source listed it is because I cut my coupons from the newspaper and keep them in my binder.  I list the websites for the others.

It is frozen food month so in the next weeks I am anticipating some great deals on frozen foods.

Janette's BIG Dealz Shopping List 2/29-3/6

Tomorrow is a the beginning of a new month and coupon sites update their coupons at the beginning of the month.  If there are coupons that you want, make sure to print them today before they are gone.

This week I am excited about the cereal again.  I have been watching for Oreo's for a while per request of one of my kids.  Pork seems to be on a good sale this week.  I have some coupons I pulled from my boxes of Kellogg's cereal that include $1 off fruit, $2 off milk, $1 off eggs, when you buy 2 Kellogg's cereal.  I will be using my Kellogg's cereal coupons to cut the prices of the cereal and then use the coupons for the other items, fruit, milk, eggs, to maximize my savings.

I have included a link for the $10 rebate for a gas card when you save 10 UPC symbols from select Kellogg's cereal.  Make sure to click the link, read it, print it out, and buy accordingly to maximize your savings.  If you receive a rebate it would be like getting your cereal for free, some you may even make  money on.

HyVee
50% off select Kellogg's Cereal and Cereal Bars - combine with coupons from last week if you still have them, from Kelloggs.com  and coupons from inside boxes of select Kellogg's cereal boxes. Save 10 UPC's from select cereals and $10 rebate for gas card at http://www2.kelloggs.com/AARP/rewards/

Janette's Big Deals Shopping List 2/22/12-2/28/12

After talking to my friend Lindsey yesterday we had both been a little disappointed with some of the deals that have been available.  As the price of gas goes up so does the price of food, even more reason to use a coupon when you can, but I digress.  Looking back on the month we have been able to get some great deals on cereal, produce, chicken, pizza, along with other deals I am sure I have forgotten.  This weeks ad is not stacked with many things to use a coupon with, but there are a few.  I especially anxious to hit Baker's this week to see what price the 50% off makes the cereal, especially when combined with coupons.  I am hoping for a great price there!  I have been craving kiwi so I am also anxious for those.  I plan to make two trips this week, one to Baker's for the cereal since places to price match an ad that state 50% off with no price, and then I will do the remainder of my shopping at I am thinking Fareway or Walmart where I will price match the rest.  I will need to pick up some extra's this week, but because I have spent under $40 each week in my grocery shopping thus far this month, I have plenty of money in my budget things that I have been putting off, namely I need to make sure to get some pasta.

So here's the thing.  I am not going to go to all these stores.  I am going to take my ads and price match either at Stonybrook HyVee or Walmart.  HyVee will not price match produce, or meat, unless it specifically says DOLE CELERY $.77 they won't just price match celery.  Fareway is also very good about price matching.  I have never had a problem with them price matching anything, as long as I have the ad.  The other thing is I have a lot of stuff built up, so on weeks like this one, where I am not terribly impressed with the prices in the ads, I don't spend a whole lot, and I save my money for the ads catch my eye again.
I typically also don't buy non grocery items, ie toothpaste, toilet paper, and so on at the grocery store.  I have found that I can get a MUCH better price to wait for a sale to come up at Walgreen's or CVS .  I am hoping in the next week or two I will be able to put a list together for you or some better references to Walgreen's and CVS.  I will do my best to at least point out the stuff that I am going to buy.

Happy Shopping!
